Writer, critic, editor, and instructor-of-record.

Jenny Henderson, PhD

About Me: I hold a doctorate in Theatre & Performance Studies from Tufts University, where I successfully defended my dissertation, “Listening Incommensurably: Reckoning with Sexual Violence through Critical Geographic Performance in the Contemporary U.S. and Canada.”

My research is foremostly committed to ending sexual violence in the Americas through a deeper engagement with performance and place; I encourage an original method of spectatorship that I term “listening as incommensurable practice.”

I have experience leading courses across the performing arts, English literature, arts’ writing and education, and feminist studies at Tufts and Harvard University.

I am an award-winning creative writer and essayist; my work has been published by Teen Vogue and TDR.
